DEPARTMENT: POLICE

POSITION: POLICE OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES: Highly public and stressful position requiring excellent communication skills
necessary to converse with the public and fellow officers; enforces laws and
ordinances, patrols assigned areas by car, foot or bicycle checking for unsafe and /
or illegal activities; investigates complaints and completes required reports.
Responds to emergency calls pertaining to life and / or death situations; takes and
process fingerprints and photographs; transports prisoners to police station; books,
charges, testifies and presents evidence in court of law.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have completed minimum standard requirements set by the Florida Dept. of
Law Enforcement, possess a valid Florida Drivers License, Florida law
enforcement certification required. Ability to lift / carry up to 45 pounds; to
endure sustained acts of physical exhaustion and endure periods of duty under
unfavorable and life threatening situations; to reach, pull, push, smell, climb,
walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, jump, run and distinguish colors.

HIRING RANGE: $17.34 per hour (2184 hours)
